Greg Sparks has vast experience in consulting and corporate finance, and has unrivalled expertise in public sector projects.
His areas of expertise include programme planning and implementation, and change management.
Greg was a founding partner in 1982, and has been instrumental in developing FGS into one of Ireland's top accounting, advisory and consulting firms.
Major projects
Greg has been involved in high-profile public finance initiative studies, and played a significant role in the establishment of the Strategic Investment Board in Northern Ireland in 2003.
He was also instrumental in setting up Employee Share Ownership Plans for public, private and semi-state organisations such as the ESB, NTL and Aer Lingus.
He has advised a number of clients in negotiations with banks, including developing revised financial structures to enable companies to grow and prosper.
Other landmark projects include:
- A strategic review of the Irish Fire Service
- Advising on the liberalisation of Ireland's electricity industry
- Assisting Aer Lingus on selection of a strategic partner
- Restructuring and rationalisation of Dublin Port
Very proud of the firm's all-island presence, Greg played a key role in the merger of FGS with Belfast's McClure Watters and Longford's Lyons Keenan Kilemade in 2006.
Other roles
Greg is a consummate professional. He has been appointed to many important boards and leading organisations such as the Strategic Investment Board, the Irish Times, the Special Olympics and Digicel.
He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute.
