Not For Profit
Not for profit bodies, ranging from charities to non-governmental organisations (NGOs), have strategic, organisational and operational challenges, which are similar to the challenges faced by commercial organisations in the private sector.
Many such bodies have substantial budgets, are large-scale employers and have multiple stakeholders – board members, trustees, managers, staff, volunteers. Also, some have requirements to secure funding and persuade government bodies, private donors and other benefactors of their value and their professionalism.
FGS has developed a particular expertise in servicing the needs of the not for profit sector. We act for:
- Large charities
- Trusts
- Non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
- Credit unions
- Trade unions
- Charitable foundations
- Other voluntary groups

FGS provides accounting, audit, management consultancy, taxation, property and other related services to clients within this sector. We are the auditor and financial advisor to many leading not for profit bodies throughout Ireland.
We have also been appointed to advise and mediate in organisational restructurings within not for profit organisations.
In delivering our services we are conscious of:
- The need for full transparency and accountability to the boards and management and staff within these organisations
- The requirement to derive maximum value for money and to ensure all projects are run efficiently and within the expected timescales
- The necessity to engage with varying stakeholders and to continually keep the channels of communications open
FGS offers clients access to a senior, experienced team drawn from several divisions within the firm.
