Derek Donohoe is one of Ireland's leading transaction services experts, specialising in financial and commercial due diligence reviews, forensic accounting, corporate governance issues and technical auditing and accounting matters.

Possessing strong analytical skills and with over 25 years in the field, he is ideally qualified to understand and respond to the real needs of clients.

Audit

Derek provides audit services to a portfolio of clients predominantly in the financial services sector.

Due diligence reviews

Derek undertakes due diligence reviews and financial appraisal services for a wide range of clients, from private and corporate investors to banks, government departments and public sector agencies.

Forensic accounting

Derek has extensive experience of forensic accounting. With his clear, concise expert reports on complex financial situations, he has assisted legal professionals and the courts, and has acted as an expert witness in commercial litigation, shareholder disputes and valuations.

Practical experience

In all his work, clients benefit from Derek's breadth of practical experience, including his previous work internationally and with the IDA and the retail group Harry Moore Ltd in the 1990s.

Derek joined FGS in 1994 and is a partner in both our assurance, forensic & transaction services division and our audit & advisory division. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, an Associate Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and holds a Diploma in Forensic Accounting from Chartered Accountants Ireland.
